Attendance And Punctuality Policy

All students are expected to attend all lessons and be punctual at all times.
Bliss College policy on student attendance stipulates that if a student’s attendance is less than 85% or if a student stops attending a course before the end date specified on the acceptance letter, the College has a responsibility to inform the UK Border and Immigration Agency of the Home Office. The College will also be unable to assist such student to renew their student visa.
In case of unavoidable absence (through sickness or compassionate extenuating circumstances), the College must be informed. A medical certificate is required if there is more than three days’ consecutive absence owing to illness. Absence through compassionate extenuating circumstances must be supported with appropriate evidence.

Students who are up to 15 minutes late for their class may be admitted into the class subject to a satisfactory explanation, and will be registered as present for the purposes of attendance.

Students who are more than 30 minutes late for their class will be registered as absent for the purposes of attendance of that class. They may be admitted into the class at the discretion of the relevant member of staff.

Warning Procedure:

1. First Warning Letter: In all cases where students fail to inform the College and whose attendance level is less than 85% or 3 days of continuous absence will be given a First Warning letter informing them to contact the Principal and explain their non-attendance within 3 working days from the date of the letter.
2. Second Warning Letter: Students who fails to respond to the first warning letter or persist in failing to meet the 85% attendance policy and a continuous six days absence will be sent a Second Warning letter. This letter constitutes a formal warning regarding your non-attendance.
3. Third and Final Warning Letter: Students who fail to respond to the second warning letter or continue in failing to meet the 85% attendance policy will be sent a Third and Final Warning Letter informing them that in accordance with UKBA Regulations and our College policy. The College will inform UKBA of your non-attendance and that you are no longer a registered student of BLISS COLLEGE.
