This award is designed for staff who deliver physical, emotional, or enabling care to clients, whether they work in health and social care, in the public, private, or voluntary sectors. It is designed to be relevant for staff in all care settings.
Qualification
This award is about the delivery of health and social care to individuals. This includes
both direct care, where the focus is hands-on care (doing things for the individual) and enablement care, where the focus is on the development and maintenance of the Individual’s independence (supporting and enabling individuals to do things for themselves).
Progression Opportunities
On completion of this programme you will be able to progress on to NVQ Health and Social Care Level 3 if your work role is suitable.
Course Content
The award is structured so that a learner will achieve six units. For learners employed in a social care setting inspected by Commission for Social Care Inspection, learners must complete four core units and two optional units.
